Administration and Staff

Director, Mrs. Menolia

Mrs. Menolia has been the Director at Garden Lakes Christian Academy since September 2019. Mrs. Mo has been in the ECE field for 15 years teaching all age groups and has a bachelor’s degree in Human Services. Mrs. Mo has spent time as both a teacher and an administrator and prior to becoming the Director at GLCA Mrs. Mo was a three-year-old teacher and the ECE Coordinator, helping to distribute and implement the curriculum that we have at GLCA. Mrs. Mo is currently enrolled as a student at Rio Salado College to further her education in Early Childhood Education in Applied Science in Early Childhood Administration and Management with a Certificate of Completion in Child and Family Organizations Management and Administration. Mrs. Mo has been seen multiple times running around the Sanctuary and playground playing with the children and getting them excited about living a physical and spiritual life.

Assistant Director, Mrs. Felicia

Mrs. Felicia has been the Assistant Director at GLCA since October 2019, coming from another preschool and is pursuing her Associate Degree of Early Childhood Education Administration and Management with a Certificate of Completion in Child and Family Organizations Management and Administration, she also has a passion and a certification for Graphic Design. Mrs. Felicia has been in the childcare field since 2010 and has worked in other areas at licensed centers as an infant lead teacher and a Director. She is now the Assistant Director at GLCA. Mrs. Felicia is passionate about teaching children about God and has been found multiple times praying with the children and helping them to get excited about learning about God. Mrs. Felicia is never seen without a smile on her face when she’s working, and the children love seeing her throughout the day.

ECE Coordinator, Mrs. Mandi

Mrs. Mandi has been at GLCA since November 2019. She has going on 10 years’ experience working in the childcare field working in both a large corporate preschool and a Christian preschool. She has worked in almost all areas of the preschool setting including as the Curriculum Coordinator for 3 years. Mrs. Mandi’s favorite part of teaching is watching the children discover new things and ideas. She enjoys reading to the children in loud and ecstatic tones to get the children more involved and excited about reading and learning something new every day. While teaching in a class is one of her passions, Mrs. Mandi also enjoys working on the Administration side of the preschool and is currently attending school to obtain her Associates of Applied Science in Early Childhood Administration and Management with a Certificate of Completion in Child and Family Organizations Management and Administration.

Office Assistant, Ms. Tina

Ms. Tina has been working for GLCA since 2018 as our School Receptionist. She provides excellent office support to the school in the mornings and helps with filing paperwork, check children in and out if she needs to, takes the children to class in the morning and helps with deliver meals to the children every day. She has extensive experience in office management. Ms. Tina is seen every day with a smile on her face when she goes into the classes and the children look forward to her bright smile every morning. When Ms. Tina is at work the children know they will get a smile and a helping hand to get into their class, especially if the children are having a hard time leaving their parents. Ms. Tina loves meeting new parents and children and getting to know them on their first day of school.

Office Assistant, Mrs. Corrie

Ms. Corrie is one of the many faces the children get excited to see every day at school. She has been a part of the church for five years and part of preschool staff since 2017. Mrs. Corrie works as the receptionist in the afternoons when needed. She also helps to go into the classes, pick the school age children up from school and will help to answer phone calls and resumes on the Administrative side of the school. Mrs. Corrie has been known to also set up some fun and exciting Summer Camp activities for the school age program each year. She provides excellent customer service and solid support and assistance for the school. She has years’ experience in office management. Mrs. Corrie has recently made the decision to go back to school to earn her degree in Science in Early Childhood Administration and Management with a Certificate of Completion in Child and Family Organizations Management and Administration.

Giraffe’s Teacher, Ms. Ashly

Ms. Ashly has been our Giraffes teacher since February of 2021, she has several years experience working in a preschool setting. She has a degree in social work from Arizona State University and has worked in childcare with her passion being with infants for 14 years and believes that early education is very important. Ms. Ashly believes that starting infants at a young age will help children and infants to develop social and emotional skills as well as building their fine and gross motor skills. MS. Ashly loves to read and dance with the children throughout the day and loves taking the children on walks to visit the outdoors and show the babies the wonders of world around them. The babies look forward to seeing Ms. Ashly every morning when they come into class as she greets them with a warm smile and a hug when they arrive and before they go home each night.

Cheetah’s Teacher, Ms. Joceline

Ms. Joceline is the Cheetah’s teacher. She has been at GLCA since January and loves working with the one-year-old children. She loves doing arts and crafts and has been excelling at helping the children to learn and understand their social emotional skills. While in the class Ms. Joceline talks to the children about their emotions and what those emotions look like for each child. She enjoys reading and singing with the children and has recently started working more towards teaching the children through the Bible lessons so that while children are playing and learning the children are also learning about God.

Cheetah’s Teacher, Ms. Laura

Ms. Laura has been working with children for 17 years and working primarily with babies for 10 years and the three and four year old’s for six.She also has had experience working with toddlers to cover breaks and worked in the kitchen as a cook. She enjoys playing with the children and running around, while singing songs and doing arts and crafts. When she is in the class with the children she helps to teach the children how to be independent and makes learning fun. She is teaching the children that they are okay when they leave their parents and they are safe. Her favorite topic to teach is arts and crafts and she can be seen at any given time throughout the day doing an art project with the children and helping them to learn their fine motor development. Though she has recently transitioned to working with one year old children, she has adjusted amazingly. Ms. Laura has taught the toddlers so much since starting in the toddler class and the children love having her in class with them every day.

Lion’s Teacher; Mrs. Theresa

Mrs. Theresa moved from Minnesota in February 2022 where she had an in home daycare center for 43 years. She enjoys doing crafts and crocheting while spending time with her family riding bikes and swimming and with her dogs. Her passion is working with children and is currently working with our two year old’s. She loves that light bulb that goes on in their faces when a child first learns and understands something they are being taught. Mrs. Theresa enjoys doing arts and crafts and teaching the children gross and fine motor skills through daily art projects.

Lions Teacher; Ms. Alicia

Ms. Alicia moved here from Colorado with her son two years ago. She enjoys working with children because they are the future and she loves being able to discover new things through the eyes of children. It was a joy as she learned to see through her own child’s eyes so being able to see that in another child’s eyes has been a joy. Ms. Alicia is one of our two year old teachers and has been helping to work on potty training in the class. She enjoys sitting down and reading with the children as they try to learn new words and phrases that will help to develop their cognitive abilities.

Ladybug’s Teacher, Mrs. Dani

Mrs. Dani has been working at GLCA since February 2020 and started in the Toddler classroom and has since made the decision that she wanted to start working with the older children and has transitioned as the younger three-year-old teacher. She has been working in the childcare field as a preschool teacher since 2015 in all areas of the school and loves working with all age groups. She has several years’ experience working in the infant class and takes some of the skills she learned at her previous center and brought them into the classes at GLCA. Mrs. Dani loves reading to the children and teaching the Ladybugs class to sing and dance and teaching the children how to start writing their names and building their fine motor skills to start helping the three-year-old children get ready and become successful for Kindergarten. She has been seen several times throughout the day taking the children on walks and helping them to learn and discover new things.

Ladybugs Teacher, Ms. Kathy

Ms. Kathy has been teaching at GLCA since 2018 as support for the Ladybugs Class with Ms. Gege in the afternoons. She brings with her decades of teaching and experience in Early Childhood Education. When she comes into class at naptime the children get excited and want to give her a hug instead of laying down for nap. Ms. Kathy enjoys reading books with her students in the afternoons and provides a nurturing environment for the three-year-old children. Ms. Kathy brings a smile on her face every day and will sit down with the children to do afternoon artwork. She has a passion for working with the threes class but is known by all the children in the school for her wonderful and bright smile in the afternoons after nap time.

Dolphins Teacher, Ms. Chloe L.

Ms. Chloe has been working with children for 6 years. She became a teacher because she wanted to enlighten little minds and bring out their creativity through the arts. Ms. Chloe strives for a child’s success as she has recently gone back to school to obtain her bachelors in Early Childhood Education. While Ms. Chloe is in class with the children she is sitting down and teaching them how to recognize the letters in their names and has recently started teaching the older three year old’s how to write the letters in their names as she ventures into teaching cognitive skills. She enjoys helping the children build their social emotional skills and teaching them how to understand the many emotions that young children go through on a daily basis. Ms. Chloe L. enjoys teaching the children how to count and hold a pencil correctly as she is starting her lessons on writing so the children will be further prepared as they move into the older classroom.

Monkey’s Class, Mrs. Theresa H.

Mrs. Theresa is our Monkey’s teacher, she has been working in childcare for 35 years with all ages while traveling and participating in training modules that she received with the Army. She has worked for several private day care centers around the world while traveling before she started her own daycare center out of her home. She has achieved several degrees and certificates as a Licensed Pastoral Counselor, a Certified Temperament Counselor, she’s a Certified Pastoral Member, a Certified Ordained Minister, and she has achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. She recently moved to Arizona to be closer to family and made the decision to go back to work. Mrs. Theresa enjoys teaching the children science because all children love science. She feels it’s a way to explore and learn more as they discover new things. Mrs. Theresa will sit down with the children while they are learning and talk to them about what they are doing and how they feel about what they are learning. She loves praying with the children and teaching them the weekly Bible lessons, she enjoys teach and just wants the children to learn about life in general and wants them to enjoy learning.

Whales Class, Ms. Sharda

Ms. Sharda is one of our five year old teachers. She enjoys teaching the children about the Bible and showing them the love of Christ and the love that God has for them. She has been working with children for over 25 years, primarily working with children who have experienced trauma and she has worked with Special Needs children. Ms. Sharda enjoys teaching the children the fundamentals of learning such as fine and gross motor development, arts and crafts, and singing. But she enjoys the overall experience of teaching children. She has started teaching the children worship songs and throughout the day her class can be heard singing a song. The children look forward to coming into class with her every day and listening to her talk about what they will be learning for the day. During circle time every day Ms. Sharda can be heard singing songs with the children and preparing them for their lesson for the day while sitting down and reading and learning how to count. Ms. Sharda is preparing herself to go back to school to achieve her degree in Early Childhood Education.

Polar Bear’s Teacher, Ms. Jessi

Ms. Jessica has worked in childcare for four years both of which were a Christian Preschool and has been with GLCA since October 2019. She has always wanted to work in childcare and started as a nanny for several years before deciding to move onto a preschool setting. Ms. Jessi has worked in all the classes at GLCA! Ms. Jessi enjoys working with all age groups but has recently discovered a passion for working with the school age children. She loves reading to the children and running around with them while they are outside or in the Sanctuary. Ms. Jessi helps in any classroom that she is needed in each day but focuses on the older children right now. Ms. Jessi has been seen in all the classes with the children and when she isn’t in the Polar Bear’s class during the school year she is going around from class to class

Polar Bear’s Assistant Teacher, Mrs. Faye

Mrs. Faye is one of our after school program instructors. She recently made the transition to the child care field after working retail for many years. She made the decision to transition into childcare after a friend felt it would be a good career change. She is currently training to become one of our bus drivers, and is enjoying working with the school age program but loves working with all the children throughout the program. Her favorite part of working in childcare is getting to know the children and interacting with them, and the wonderful little hugs are a joy as well. Mrs. Faye also enjoys teaching the children about the Bible through weekly Bible lessons that are being taught throughout the rest of the center. During the summer time she enjoys doing arts and crafts on the days the children are not on field trips. She is passionate about watching the children grow in their learning and watching them develop into productive students as they are learning new things in small groups while playing games or reading the Bible stories every day. vvv

Transitional Teacher, Ms. Selene

Ms. Selene has been part of our team for almost a year and started out as our two-year old teacher. Recently she has moved into our after school care and as a transitional teacher so that she is able to assist in all our classes. Ms. Selene started teaching in 2016 as a floating teacher to learn how to work in all of the classes. Ms. Selene started teaching because she felt it came natural to her as she has taken care of children for most of her life, she feels that the more she works with children the more confident she has become. She feels the children help to teach her as well and she gets to take a step back and look at life differently. She hopes to start going back to school again in order to hone her gifts as a teacher and to learn more about how to become a better teacher while looking at life through the eyes of a child. She enjoys volunteering with homeless families and learning more about God and the Bible as she is teaching the young minds of the future.

Transitional Teacher, Ms. Ravyn

Ms. Ravyn has been with GLCA since 2021 and has been learning and building skills in all areas of GLCA. She has worked with special needs for 6 months before she came to GLCA. She is looking to obtain her degree in early childhood education and special needs education. She is passionate about working with children and helping them become better in daily living skills. She loves when our younger children can do more of their daily projects on their own and become more independent. She enjoys seeing them grow into their own person. Ms. Ravyn will be working and learning all of our classes as she assists all teachers in their classes. Ms. Ravyn is currently assisting teachers with arts and crafts and building their social and emotional skills while assisting the older students with their developmental learning skills that are needed as the children prepare for Kindergarten.

Transitional Teacher, Ms. Brenda

Ms. Brenda has joined us as a returning part-time assistant throughout the school. Ms. Brenda has been working with children for almost 50 years with all ages, but she recently found a passion for teaching the 3-5 year old children in our preschool program. She enjoys teaching the children cognitive and social emotional skills, but has recently started to enjoy helping the children build their fine motor skills that are needed for kindergarten and their future for school. She enjoys teaching children about the love that God has for them through daily Bible lessons and songs.
