Staff and Leadership

Ms. Rowena Regalado, MM, CCHC

Ms. Rowena Regalado is the School Director. She completed her Master of Management degree in 2009 and has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She is a Child Care Health Consultant for the State of Arizona through the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She is also a Certified Instructor through the Arizona Workforce Registry. She has decades of experience in Early Childhood Education and spent a great part of it with the Head Start Program (Early Head Start, Head Start, and Migrant and Seasonal Head Start). She has completed numerous excellent trainings through UCLA Anderson School of Management, Western Kentucky University, and Dale Carnegie. Ms. Rowena strongly advocates and supports programs for children with special needs and is committed to support GLCA’s ministry to serve the children.

Ms. Menolia Cuff, BS Human Services

Ms. Menolia Cuff is the Early Childhood Education Coordinator (ECE Coordinator). She is Ms. Mo to our students and staff. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and spent decades in Early Child Education both as a teacher and a provider. Ms. Mo as the ECE Coordinator is focus in making sure the Academic and the Christian Curriculum are strongly implemented in the classrooms. She provides training and technical assistant to the teaching staff. She conducts regular classroom assessment and observations and ensures that the Student Portfolio is updated weekly. She is described as enthusiastic, committed and dedicated.

    Our Toddler Program Staff

Ms. Medilin Hendrickson, BS Education

Ms. Medi is our Classroom Teacher for the Giraffes. She provides a strong foundation for our one-year old classroom using the Buttercups Lesson Plans for the children in her classroom and merges the Christian Curriculum with passion. She takes great care in making sure her classroom is always prepared and ready for the children to enjoy. She is described are organized, loving and ensures her one year olds are learning.

Ms. Stacey Miller

Ms. Stacey is one of our Assistant Teacher in the Toddlers Program. She has over nine years of Early Childhood Education experience and is mainly focus on the Toddlers. She is patient and ensures all children enjoy classroom activities and strongly uses the curriculum to strengthen the children’s experience in the classroom.

Ms. Tiffany McAllister

Ms. Tiffany is one of our Lead Teacher in the Toddler Program. Ms. Tiffany has over five years of Early Childhood Education and worked as Lead Teacher with the Toddler Programs. Ms. Tiffany ensures that children are provided with excellent and age-appropriate experiences while in they are in her class.

Ms. Stephanie Valle

Ms. Stephanie is one of our Assistant with our Toddlers Program. She has worked with children since 2009 and continues to seek for professional growth in Early Childhood Education.

    Our Pre-School Program

Ms. Georgette De Somma

Ms. Gege as she is fondly called by her students and staff has been with Garden Lakes Christian Academy since it first opened its doors to the community in 2007. Ms. Gege continues to dedicate and show deep commitment to GLCA and her profound love for Early Childhood Education (ECE). She incorporates sign language in her classes as another form of communication for children. Ms. Gege has extensive trainings on ECE and continues to attend ECE Trainings. Ms. Gege is described by her students and colleagues as funny, flexible and caring.

Ms. Kathy Banks, BA

Ms. Kathy is one of our teachers in the Pre-School Program. She teaches and supports the Ladybugs Class with Ms. Gege. Ms. Kathy brings with her decades of teaching and experience in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Kathy loves reading books with her students in the afternoons and provides a nurturing environment for the three years old. She is described as calm, patient and a listener.

Ms. Rebecca Gonzalez

Ms. Rebecca is one of our teachers that support the Pre-School Program. She brings with her the enthusiasm and great love to teach the children using our Academic Curriculum and embeds in it the Christian Curriculum. She has been teaching ECE since 2015 and has grown to commit herself to share God’s love to the children in her class. She is described as energetic, eager to try new things in teaching and enjoys reading to her students as well.

Ms. Amaris Shanelle James, BS Psychology

Ms. Shanelle as she is fondly called by her GLCA Family is one of our teachers in the Whales Class. She supports a class that is focus on making sure the children are Kinder Ready. Ms. Shanelle completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the Jackson State University in Mississippi. She finished her AA and Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC-A) at the Estrella Mountain Community College. She is described as warm, personable and friendly.

Ms. Daisy Shinhoster, CDA, AA

Ms. Daisy is one of our Assistant Teachers that support our Toddler and Pre-School Programs. Ms. Daisy started teaching in Chicago in 1994. She continues to grow professionally in the field of Early Childhood Education. She is described as creative, trustworthy and committed.M

Ms. Tiara Hodges

Ms. Tiara is one of our Assistant Teachers in the Pre-School Program. She is currently completing her degree in Elementary Education at Arizona State University and is scheduled to graduate in December 2019. She provides a strong and important support to the Whales and Monkeys Class. She is described as kind, pleasant and creative.

    Reception

Ms. Tina Hernandez

Ms. Tina is our School Reception and provides an excellent and strong office support to the school in the mornings. She has extensive experience in office management. She is described as compassionate, patient and personable.

Ms. Corrie Hicks

Ms. Corrie is our School Reception in the afternoons. She provides excellent customer service and solid support and assistance for the school. She is involved in the After School Program and the Summer Program. She has decades of experience in office management. She is also the Ministry Assistant of the First Baptist Church Garden Lakes. Ms. Corrie is described as reliable, committed and patient.
